Staff named in Google reviews: tracking mentions by branch

Customers often name the person who helped them. Those mentions are some of the most useful lines in a review: they tell you who is making a difference, branch by branch.

Why counting names is harder than it looks

  • Customers misspell names or use nicknames.
  • The same first name can belong to two people at different branches.
  • Words that look like names often are not.

Counting every capitalised word gives you noise. Counting only names on your roster gives you a number you can trust.

How Loculens handles it

Loculens matches names in reviews against the roster you give it, per branch, and shows "Most mentioned team members". Names it finds that are not on the roster are listed separately, under "Found in reviews, not on the roster", so you can add a new starter or ignore a false match.

Using mentions well

  • Share positive mentions with the team member and their manager.
  • Treat a negative mention as a prompt for a conversation.
  • Compare branches over months, not days.

If mentions point to a staffing gap, HireSieve helps you screen CVs fairly, and the Braivex interview scoring sheet keeps interviews consistent. See also sentiment by location.

Keeping the roster accurate

A roster goes stale fast in businesses with high turnover. Update it when people join or leave, and check the "not on the roster" list each month: it often shows a new starter customers already love. Use the names staff actually go by at work, since that is what customers write.
